Spend a week in Morocco on this Tour from Casablanca to Moroccan Desert. With us, you will discover small towns, big cities, and a camel trek in the Moroccan Sahara Desert!
On the first day of the Tour from Casablanca to Moroccan Desert, we’ll explore the main sights of Casablanca. Then, we drive to Rabat, the capital. We explore the main attractions and monuments, then we head to Meknes and Fes where we stay overnight in a local hotel.
After breakfast, we continue our tour exploring the oldest city in Morocco. We enjoy walking in its alleys and small streets. We will visit the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter, and other cultural and historical sites including the Al Qaraouine University, the Tanneries, and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum.
Later, we drive to Ifrane, a famous ski resort, called Switzerland of Morocco. We continue to Azrou, stopping at the cedar forest to see the Barbarian Apes. We go towards Midelt in the Atlas mountains.
Our Tour from Casablanca to Moroccan Desert will continue from Midelt to the Ziz valley with a stop in Erfoud, Rissani, and finally Merzouga. We will ride camels to a desert camp guided by an experienced camel guide in the middle of Erg Chebbi.
The desert camel trek takes about 90 minutes to reach the camp. Then, we enjoy the sunset over the dunes and our dinner will be served near the campfire. We will spend this night in desert tents in the desert.
We’ll start by exploring the desert area by visiting the Gnawa village of Khamlia to learn more about Gnawa music. Afterward, may meet Nomad families still living under Berber tents in the Sahara desert.
Then, we will go to Rissani to explore its local souk. Later, we will drive back to the village of Merzouga. From here, we ride camels for about 90 minutes to arrive at the desert camp where we will spend this night in the dunes. As we enjoy the desert sunset, dinner will be served at the camp.
We will watch the sunrise in the Moroccan Sahara desert and ride camels back to the village. After breakfast in the Riad, you’ll leave for Rissani, Tinghir, and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco.
After lunch at the heart of the gorge, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”.
An overnight accommodation will be in a fancy hotel overlooking the Dades valley.
After breakfast in the hotel, you will travel through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand Kasbahs. This gives you opportunities to take your best photographic shots of the trip in both the valley rose roses and cinema city of Ouarzazate.
We get to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. It was built by Thami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains. The Kasbah used to be one of his stops during his long travel from the Sahara to Marrakech and is, now, one of the UNESCO heritage sites.
After that, we will shift the way to cross the high Atlas mountains that is full of panoramic views and attractive Berber villages all the way to Marrakech.
We will visit important places in Marrakech including its architecture, the ancient Medina, and the grand historical monuments (tombs, mosques, kasbahs).
We can’t leave Marrakesh without touring the Jamaa El Fna Plaza. Note that Marrakech is the capital of tourism in Morocco. We stay here in a local hotel.
