Our Sahara Tour From Fes starts today travelling south to Merzouga via Midelt and Ifrane – “the Switzerland of Morocco”. We will visit also Midlet city and the Ziz Valley and our journey continues along the Berber villages to Erfoud, and Rissani, the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty. After we arrive to Merzouga we check in to our desert riad and we will enjoy traditional Moroccan dinner.
Our Sahara Tour From Fes on second day exploring the Sahara desert area. We will visit the village of Khamlia – home of Gnawa people – originally from Mali, Senegal and Sudan , and we will learn about their music and lifestyle . Later we will meet Nomad families to explore their way of life. Later today we will visit city of Rissani -where we can visit large local souk (an open market). After exploring Rissani we drive back to Merzouga and in the afternoon, we will ride camels, guided by an experienced camel guide. We will explore highest sand dunes in Morocco. Our dinner will be served in desert camp and we will sleep in the tent in Sahara desert.
Our private Morocco tour continues early in the morning, and our Merzouga camel guide will guide us to watch the sunrise in desert. Then , we will ride camels back to the Merzouga. We will enjoy the beauty of the Erg Chebbi dunes during camel trek. After shower and breakfast in the Merzouga riad, we’ll drive towards Rissani , Tinghir, and Todra gorges. Here we may hike for an hour within the valley. After lunch in the gorge we will continue to the Dades valley. Here we will see amazing sand castles and the rock formations known as “monkey toes”. We stay overnight in local riad with dinner and breakfast.
On the last day of our private Morocco trip we head to Ouarzazate with stop at Kalaat Mgouna – roses valley, where you may visit the cooperative for the roses, or purchase the rosewater. Then we head to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. It has been built by Et Hami El Glaoui. Our trip continues through the mountain Tizi n’Tichka Pass (at 2260 m) over the High Atlas Mountains. We will drive to Marrakech and that will be end of our private Morocco Tour to Merzouga desert.
